   There are several forms of media in the age of industry. Television is the most popular because of its useful functions that are effectively manipulated to serve human daily activities. The more functional it is, the more disadvantages it offers; however, inevitably, the more disadvantages are needed to minimize.

  Apparently, watching television gains quite a few advantages. First, it is informative. Sitting in front of the TV screen, we will be kept informed of global news. For example, we can learn where a summit is going to be held, an earthquake with 8 Richter scale breaking out in Japan, a famine facing Jamaica, a fatal flood hitting China, or the hottest war events recorded from Afghanistan. Next, TV is educational. If we are interested in a foreign language like Korean, French, or Chinese, it can be learnt via a channel of education on alternate days. More  interestingly, with the channel of Discovery, we can enrich our common knowledge such as wild life, the history of our favourite cities, a latest invention in medicine, or habitual, traditional, cultural feartues in various regions around the world. Last, TV works as a form of entertainment. After a day of hard work, viewers are provided with a wide range of programs for relaxation. We can refresh our minds by watching live game shows, live music performances, films of various genres, fashion shows, European football matches, or other plenty of our interests. The number of advantages of TV is too numerous to list.

  Despite its benefits, television also causes some disadvantages. The first one is that because of its attracting advantages, our eyes keep concentrating on what is going on the screen for a rather long time. This can lead to eyestrain which results from tiredness of exceedingly concentrating hours. More importantly, according to a recent health research, exceeding hours of viewing TV may stifle our creativity. Watching TV is luxuriating available creativity stimulated by television producers. This will gradually blunt our brains that day by day react less creatively. Finally, if we are attracted by stimulating programs on TV, we will be ignorant of or negligent in housework, school work, or home duty. It will be procrastinated until a later time. Soon, it will pile up and we are behind schedule. In other words, we will invevitably incur laziness. The drawbacks resulted from television should not be looked over or be avoided.

  In brief, the advantages of TV are informative, educational, and entertaining while its disadvantages are causing an eye problem, loss of creativity, and laziness. The pros and cons should not be weighed
It is significant to take advantage of its positive side and to minimize its negative side.
