Essay 2: My Mom and Dad (bài tham khảo hay)
It is thought that since we were born, we have been cared about, brought up, and raised until we grow up. The caretakers are almost always side by side with us in our process of growing up. They virtually set an example for us to follow. They hold a special position in our hearts all the time. As for me, the caretakers are my parents whom I love and admire in my life. I am proud of them, thanks to their zeal in their jobs, the way they bring me up and their manners towards others.
My parents are zealous. They live in a rural area with a vast green rice field. They are tireless
farmers because they have to work hard from dawn to dusk to harvest bumper crops. No matter how hard they work, they are not able to produce surplus. They lose their crop off and on. In addition to the field work, my mother not only shoulders the housework but also acts as a housewife such as cleaning the house, washing clothes, preparing for the meals, and keeping the house. My father, in contrast, is responsible for heavy work such as reparing the water pipe, faucets, or the leaky roof. They have to do almost everything by themselves since they are not affordable to hire a servant or get someone to do something for them. As a result, my parents treasure their rice field as writers value their pens.
Beside their day-to-day work, my parents have to raise their children. Actually, owing to the fact that they have experienced the hardness of field work, they do not want me to follow their footsteps. They take advantage of every opportunity for me to concentrate on studies so that I will work mentally rather than physically (làm việc trí óc nhiều hơn việc tay chân) in the future since they have a strong desire for my brighter future life. They are aware that life will be just better when a person is more knowledgeable. In reality, however, learning is not the unique path to gain a better life, and I really comprehend that my parents simply hope I will not have to be as laborious as they are now. Furthermore, my parents still make much of life skills. For example, my father used to instruct me how to ride a bicycle, how to swim, and how to fix a wooden table, whereas my mother used to show me how to cook my favourite dishes, how to sew on a button. Now, I have been at university for more than two years and I realize that the life skills that I practised at home are necessary for me. The more fully I realize them, the more deeply I cherish my parents, the more highly I appreciate the ways they raise me.
Despite laboriously facing challenges of life, my parents have sensible manners towards their neighbors. For instance, my mother is willing to give them a bunch of vegetables, or a fish when they need, while my father lends them a helping hand with pleasure by reaping rice, repairing a fence, or sending children in the neighborhood to the local school when their parents are engaged in their own work. Their behaving sensibly towards others gives me life-based lessons that no schools have taught me up to now.
In conclusion, although my parents are farmers, I always take great pride in their attitudes towards their field work, in their spirit to life challenges, in their ways of nourishing children, and in their sensible manners towards others. No one can replace them in my heart. I promise myself that I will do my best to please them by graduating from university with an honor degree.
